Tributes

Namaskar Namaskar from Chakori

— she truly was the kindest and sweetest. I can never forget how much effort she put into my wedding, almost literally moving an entire house worth of things from Warangal to Hyderabad just for me and all of our convenience. She even thought of the smallest details, like bringing sandals for me to use in the bathroom! Words cannot express how thankful I am to our dearest Radha pinni 🙏🏻 Love you pinni

incense stick Agarbathi from Vani Manohar

My Gratitude
Radha, my dear
I find no suitable words to express my gratitude to you for all you have done to me during your life. North and south never meet, it is said. East and west never get united, it is believed. But you have proved that they can be made to meet.
You have managed the families of two extremes so well. Growing along with families like ours is not easy. It calls for lot of courage, resilience and unlimited patience to handle strange situations, unexpected guests, serving them at irregular timings, chit chatting in loud voices etc. etc..
You served not only me but my brothers and sisters and their kith and kin alike.
Marriage is nothing but living with adjustments and sacrifices. I know, only the girl who comes into new family has to adjust and sacrifice with no complaints whatsoever.
You had displayed utmost care to see that you neither complained nor gave a chance to anyone in the family to complain against you. You endeared yourself to everyone in the family.
The values you were brought up with were almost same as those of our family but the discipline with which you grew was entirely different from that of our family, especially the time management and the punctuality aspects in certain areas.
Thank you so very much, you adapted yourself soon to this kind of family backdrop.
You were adamant, though rarely at times, but soon you were found amenable too.
You showed an unconditional affection towards our children and our family as you considered them your whole world. For them, you sacrificed your own time, not caring even yourself.
You took it as your own, and worked untiringly in every function be it a birthday, baby shower, house warming or a marriage. You shouldered the responsibility of completing the domestic chores successfully in advance even if there was no function.
The distinct way of your posture in salutation of namaste on seeing elders had an indelible impression and influence on some of our friends.
Your smile, gentleness in your nature, keeping yourself in low profile, your innocence, unassuming character is all adorable.
Let me express my wholehearted gratefulness for everything you have done to me and to our family. I MISS YOU VERY MUCH

Namaskar Namaskar from Ragini

Dear Peddamma,

It has been almost 4 months since you’ve left us, and I think it is finally sinking in. In a state of disbelief, I cling to the hope that I would receive your message or be greeted with a smile radiating pride for me and akka.

You were the rock of our family. Your grace, the way you made everyone feel at home, the way you took Amma’s place in every gathering when she couldn’t attend. The way you’d from afar check on us. Every Hanamkonda trip where we hoped to see you during our holidays, and that one singular trip we ever took to Bodhan. I was too young, but I distinctly remember the warmth of the home you’d built. In your laughter that was so wholehearted, in conversations that always instilled confidence in us. In me accompanying you to a parlour for a facial. Your support for our life partners. Your warmest hugs to Sia and the way you adored her. The marigold dress you got her which to date remains our favourite—the one dress that we’ll never be able to part with.

Peddamma, I miss you.

I deeply feel that Amma and Nanna must have held onto the thought that if they were ever to leave us one day, we would still have you.

I tell you stories sometimes, ups and downs and thereabouts. I wish to send you messages many times, but all that ends up happening is a tear in my eye and a choke that grips my throat.

Thank you, Peddamma.
You inspired us to be more accepting of people and situations. A slight side nod each time we were to part meant all would be okay. I haven’t known loss until I’ve lost you. We love you always, and not a single day passes without your thought. I will meet you again in another lifetime, exactly as you are, with all the love and beauty that is within you. ❤️

Love,
Ragini

Radha was my childhood friend. In the long journey of our friendship we have many more sweet memories. For me she was an epitome of cheerfulness, inspiration , intelligent, warmth and affection and vibrant. We named our friends group Seven Stars when we were in Degree. But unfortunately one beloved star left us all throwing us into deep misery.

I can’t forget her affectionate treatment when I stayed in their house for three days at Bodhan during early 1980s. I went to NSF at Bodhan to collect data for my M.Phil. dissertation. My stay there was much beneficial for me as I could get all the relevant data and also that I could get a more affectionate treatment from Vani’s family . Later only in 2016 I happened to meet the family.
As Vani said God picks best and fragrant hearts and provides a comfortable place in His abode.
Madam, anyone who visits your house will not forget you. Keep watching Vani and recommend to the Almighty for better health and peaceful life for our Vani💐💐💐

I remember meeting Radha Akka ( Peddakka to us as she was for Kalidas her younger brother ) decades back when my friendship with Kalidas started. As our friendship blossomed so was my relationship with Peddakka.

There was never a dull moment with she around us. Cheerful, Chirpy, and with a great sense of care towards all the family members of friends of Kalidas. She was the life of any get-together with a penchant for organising things, serving and above all had a great love for good food, particularly for the traditional ones.

I still remember, we all met once for a get together when my daughter Pooja and Son in law Nithin had come for visit to India from US for the 1st time after their marraige and she was there he one who lighted up the evening. Nithin , my son in law told me once that except for Peddakka, he was not able to recollect the names of all others. Such was her presence.

My wife Rajitha and I were probably the only ones out side of her family members who have spent considerable time during her last days in the Hospital. Even with closed eyes, pain evident from her face she didn’t forget to enquire about all out family members including the newly arrived grand son of mine. Such was her love towards the family. Peddakka !
You would always be in our thoughts and memories.

Ms Radha was such a bright thread in the tapestry of life, weaving her vibrant essence into the lives of everyone she touched.

Ms Radha, wife of our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Vani Manohar, was a beacon of wisdom and warmth. Well-educated, her intellect was matched only by her engaging spirit. Conversations with her were a delight, filled with depth and insight, whether they were about literary works or about other arts that she so dearly loved.

She was more than just a student of literature; she was a lifelong learner who embraced the world with curiosity and grace. Her passion for the arts reflected in her eyes as she discussed her favourite pieces, and her love for literature was evident in the way she could bring any story to life with her words.

Our shared moments were made even more memorable by the songs we hummed together, those melodies becoming an unspoken bond between us. Her voice, a harmonious blend with mine, created a symphony that I will forever cherish. A few of the songs we loved included "mohe bhool gaye Sanwariya", "aaj phir jeene ki tamanna hai, aaj phir marne ka iraada hai" etc.

Ms Radha was also the epitome of hospitality. Her home was always open, a haven of warmth and generosity. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome.

She was not just a great host, a literature lover, or a wonderful conversationalist; she was a friend, a guide, and a source of inspiration.

As we remember Ms Radha, we celebrate the life of a woman who enriched our lives with her wisdom, her warmth, and her unwavering spirit. Her legacy will live on in the stories we share, the songs we sing, and the art we admire. She will forever remain in our hearts, a shining thread in the tapestry of our lives.

Rest in peace, dear Radha. Your memory will be cherished always.

Remembering a kind soul...

Sir Vani Manohar and I were colleagues at Madhu Malancha, Shakkarnagar from 1978 to 1988.

I remember visiting Mr & Mrs.Vani Manohar's home along with my daughter Cheryl, when she was just a baby. We used to call her Honey. Radha garu held her with so much love and care, and showed her to their son, Siddharth, with genuine excitement and joy.

Prior to my leaving Madhu Malancha, I had been working quietly on obtaining a visa to visit the U.S. When I finally shared the good news of getting the visa in August 1988, I barely had time to meet all my colleagues in person and say bye bye...

I was fortunate to meet Mr & Mrs Vani Manohar in person a few days before I left.

I remember Radha garu saying that my announcement came as a shock rather than a surprise!

Later that week, Radha garu sent me a tiffin carrier with a delicious meal that she had prepared for me. I was then, and I am still grateful for her kindness.

After I had enjoyed myself the delicious meal, I returned the empty, thoroughly washed tiffin carrier with a one-square-inch Thank-You card.

During the last few busy days that I spent in Shakkarnagar, I often felt overwhelmed with gratitude, deep respect, and admiration for Radha garu - a kind soul, a joyful spirit, a highly cultured individual.

May her sweet soul rest in eternal peace.
May her precious memories give strength to Vani garu, children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and family in their journey...
