Tribute to my daddy  (Pope).

“Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist;(Matthew 11:11a NKJV).

Daddy this is the scripture that came to my heart when I received that dreaded call about 5:35am on the 15th August 2025. Indeed you are great and your greatness can only be compared with God’s standard not men’s. You were a channel of blessing like Abraham blessed of God to be a blessing to many. You flowed outward not inward, generous I will say to a fault, giving and giving until there is nothing left to give, always putting the needs of others above yours. You always told us to share never to eat alone and be full when there was someone hungry, to share with the hungry and trust God to provide the next meal. When you gave your life to Christ you didn’t struggle with one tenth, you up it to a quarter because you acknowledged you and all you have belongs to your Saviour Christ Jesus. If you were to amass wealth, you would have been a wealthy man by men’s standard, but you chose instead the right wealth of investing in people. Many found you as a father and a source of hope in their hopeless situation. You will bring in strays from the street make room for them in the house because there is always room for one more in the house. You took in Corpers both young and old who were on national service far from home, they found home away from home and a father looking out for them while they were away from their parents and families. You have got a lot of nonbiological children from every part of Nigeria. You were a great father though not perfect that shows our limitations as human. My heart was broken when I visited back in July just a month before you went to glory and saw you so frail, but my last video call to you two days to you transition left me very hopeful of your recovery as you looked so radiant and young and could speak briefly with my husband and I. We were so excited and didn’t want you to stress yourself, but little did I know that you were giving me a more comforting last impression before exiting. Dad thank you for being my daddy you're the best, I love you, always will as you continue to live in my heart. My joy and consolation are knowing we will meet again on the glorious resurrection morning before our Lord Jesus. Goodnight Daddy.
